Police chief duped after house he rented out was turned into a cannabis factory | Mail Online: "Criminals turned a house owned by one of the country’s most senior policemen into a cannabis factory.
Rod Jarman, a deputy assistant commissioner at Scotland Yard, had rented out the four-bedroom home through an online letting agent.
The £400,000 property was then turned into a drugs emporium, growing thousands of super-strong ‘skunk’ plants.
Worried neighbours contacted Mr Jarman earlier this month to say they had heard strange noises coming from the house in Abridge, Essex.
The police chief visited to find plants and all the necessary equipment for growing the class B drug.
And, in a sign that the house had been burgled by a rival drugs gang, a machete was found lying on the floor and a rear window had been smashed."
